Hardware damage signs Visible burn marks, swollen capacitors, or corrosion on the board edge. Burnt plastic smell or melted 7-pin harness plug. Unit will not ignite even with verified gas supply, 24 VAC present, and sensors within spec. -4. Preventive / age-based swap Heater is 8–10 years old and used commercially (high duty cycle).
