3/4" / 18mm Baltic Birch Plywood for Laser & CNC Cutting and Engraving (24" x 48")

3/4" / 18mm Baltic Birch Plywood Panels for laser cutting, engraving and all manner of DIY projects, from cabinets to desks. Baltic Birch typically originates from northern Europe and uses hardwood veneers for the faces and the core. The most distinctive feature of Baltic birch is that the edges are attractive, uniform stripes of hardwood veneer, usually alternating light and dark bands. That edge is largely free of voids. Just sand the edge and allow the edge to be seen. Laser cutting Baltic birch works beautifully, with most lab cutters cutting thicknesses up to 6mm and some up to 12mm or more. The laser does leave a dark charred edge. You can leave it as is, or if you prefer, you can easily sand the edges to remove the charring. MakerStock provides pre-cut Baltic birch panels in the right sizes for the laser cutter, or to a size convenient for your project. All MakerStock panel dimensions are cut to tolerances of +0in/-0.188in. Our Baltic birch is B/BB, which means the better side is grade B and the worse side is BB. The B side is beautiful, with no knots or patches. The BB side is also very nice, but will usually have a few pin knots, only 2-3mm across, and perhaps a “football” patch. Baltic birch is a bit denser than softwood plywoods with a hardwood veneer. Density runs about 680 kg/m3 or 0.025 lb/in3.
