This Aires 35-V was the top of the line camera sold by the Japanese manufacturer Aires from 1958 until 1962. The lens is an excellent and very fast 1:1.5 45mm S- Coral. It has a Seiko leaf shutter with speeds from 1 second to 1/400th plus B. All speeds sound accurate to my ear. Aperture settings range from f1.5 to f22, and operate smoothly, with no oil on the blades. The focus ring operates freely. The rangefinder patch is bright but is not working and appears stuck at infinity. The coupled selenium light meter is responsive, but I have not film tested the camera so I can't guarantee it's accuracy. The Collectiblend vintage and antique camera website price guide lists this camera as very scarce and assigns a market value of $240-$260 for one in average condition.
