A pair of beautifully preserved antique mourning brooches, likely of German origin, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.One features a large, faceted black glass (French jet) centerpiece set in a brass-toned frame.The other is an ornate empty photo locket-style brooch with a twisted ribbon border, ideal for displaying a keepsake, lock of hair, or miniature portrait.
Both brooches have C-clasp fastenings consistent with Victorian-era construction, and show lovely age-appropriate patina. I did my research on these there is a small chip in the black glass it's shown in the pictures.
