Authentic Murano Prancing Glass Horse Sculpture

This Murano glass horse is an exquisite, handcrafted sculpture. I purchased this piece in Murano while touring a glass sculpting master’s workshop in 2006 during a trip to Italy. It measures 9.5” tall and 8.5” in length and weighs 2 lbs 6 oz.
Murano pieces are known for their intricate details, vibrant colors, and the incorporation of gold metallic flecks within the glass as seen in this horse. Each Murano horse is individually shaped by hand by the master glassblower, making every piece unique. The master artisan united traditional Murano handwork with a contemporary design, paying close attention to detail. Authentic Murano glass may have slight imperfections and irregular shapes due to the freeform creation process. This authentic piece is marked on the belly of the horse of the horse with etching and was difficult to photograph but by looking at the three photographs of the engraving you can see it is marked with the artist’s name followed by Murano and the year 2006.
