This Dell Inspiron 3541 will give you years of reliable computing. The hardware is old and not compatible with modern Windows operating systems. Because of this, I have forced to install Linux Mint XFCe which is extremely light weight on resource usage and is the most Windows like operating system that Linux provides. I have included instructions on logging in as well as how to use Linux. For basic computing such as writing documents or browsing the internet, this laptop will last you for years
The good: Cosmetically in very good shape. The old mechanical hard drive has been replaced with a much faster SSD. Has a brand new battery and comes with a working charger. This laptop has very low power consumption
The bad: Linux. I understand it's not desirable but you can thank Microsoft for this. They refuse to support old hardware as well as stopping support for versions of their Windows software that would work if not for security loopholes
