This listing features a very collectible Vintage Delano Studios of Setauket, Long Island, New York Hand Colored on China Coaster. The coaster is titled "Baldpate" made exclusively for Frank M Whiting. The original was done by Dennis Puleston. The outer ring of the coaster is Sterling Silver with an exquisite ornamental band of decorative detailing. The coaster features a creamy white background with a beautifully colored Baldpate in flight with his beautiful feathers in the air and beautifully colored breast and head. The colors of the Balpate are just gorgeous, they are so beautifully and realistically portrayed. The hand colored on china plate sits inside of the sterling silver frame. There are a few pin dots under the glaze which is quite common with these coasters. The maker's mark, Frank M Whiting & Co Sterling, is on the back of the silver rim.
