Just as the Whole Earth Catalog and other catalogs created by American freaks "for the users" became mere lists of items in Japan, and the minicomics and free presses that were our means of expression were somehow replaced by town magazines, our methods are being increasingly absorbed by commercial capital. In such a world, the people centered around Apache, Mr. Hamada, who issued the free press "Nameless Newspaper" for six years primarily in Kichijoji (Tokyo) and influenced the freaks' movement in the city, created this "Gentle Revolution" series, taking the 100th issue of "Nameless Newspaper" as a stepping stone.

This book will become an encyclopedia for a new generation. It covers a significant portion of Japan's freaks, which have been distorted by the mass media or reported with sensationalism.

This kind of article was previously only available in scattered form in minicomics, but now, thanks to Soshisha, a general publishing route, a compiled version is easily accessible. I hope many people will read it and experience the "newness of changing society by re-evaluating each individual's life" and open their eyes to a different world.

The first volume released, "Reality," can be considered the introduction to this series. It emphasizes changing one's way of thinking and cherishing oneself. Reality is the present, life, and truth.
