Size: L 5cm x H 3.5cm A rustic Japanese sake cup crafted in stoneware, featuring a white slip glaze with deliberate crackling (kan-nyū). The surface is decorated with freehand iron-oxide brushwork in abstract floral/plant motifs. The cup rests on an unglazed, reddish clay foot (kodai), typical of traditional kiln techniques such as Mino or Mashiko ware. A hand-painted mark on the base suggests it may be the work of an individual potter. This ochoko is used for enjoying warm or cold sake, embodying the wabi-sabi aesthetic of simplicity and natural imperfection.
