This was one of the Seuss classic books featured in the 2000 Broadway musical “Seussical” for the basis of the song "It's Possible".
This is a 1947 edition; the cover is clean, bright green cloth with a close-mouthed fish and the four line copyright notice. It is in nice condition for its age with some scuffing on the corners, an indention on the top of the back and a spot on the back. (See pictures)
Written by Dr. Seuss (Theodore Seuss Geisel). It is 11-1/4” by 8” hardcover with no dust cover.
In this 54 page colorful picture book, a boy named Marco goes fishing in a small pond called McElligot's Pool. He proceeds to tell a pessimist farmer how a fish might arrive in the pool for him to catch.
Dr Seuss’s family removed several of his books from publication, this one over the word "Eskimo" for a type of fish.
