This playful Murano glass dolphin is ready to jump into the waves, frozen mid-flight by the skillful hands of Venetian artisans. Created in complex and rare chalcedony glass making technique, this piece is a nod to the ancient Murano glass tradition, where techniques trying to imitate the appearance of natural minerals, were popular. The colors used in this sculpture are red, blue and amber. Rare and beautiful chalcedony mineral was a coveted find in Europe centuries ago. The beautiful waves of rich colors flowing within this exquisite design make this dolphin an instant conversation piece. No chips, cracks or blemishes. Made at the Murano glass factories on Murano Island in Venice, Italy.
