Nicky Butler handmade earrings

This exceptional piece of Nicky Butlers collection features a large, deep blue Lapis Lazuli at the center.
Lapis Lazuli is a metamorphic rock primarily composed of lazurite, calcite, and pyrite. This semi-precious stone has been valued since antiquity and was historically used for jewelry, and carvings. During the Renaissance period, Lapis Lazuli was often ground and used to create blue paint. In powdered form, the stone was also used in blue eyeshadows in Ancient Egypt, most famously by Cleopatra. Lapis Lazuli crystal was also used to adorn burial sites for royalty, and King Tut’s sarcophagus was said to have been decorated with Lapis Lazuli stones.
There are also 3 oval turquoise stones on each earring and 2 moonstones. all of the gems in this piece are real. It is stamped NB India on the back but not “925” (as is usually the case with Nicky Butler’s work) because these are not made of sterling silver. They from his bronze collection. The pendant is approximately 2 inches long
