The Nike Space Hippie 04 “Black/Volt” is another appealing colorway of the progressive design that debuted as part of the “Space Hippie” campaign. Originally released in 2020, the Space Hippie 04 model was one of several new models by Nike that imagined what life would be like living on Mars with little in the way of reusable materials at your disposal. Like the original designs in the “Space Hippie” collection, the speckled midsole of the “Black/Volt” is made from Nike’s recycled Grind material. Further, the outsole features what Nike lovingly dubs “space junk,” a clever name for leftover scraps gathered from the brand’s cutting room floor. The design’s woven sock-like upper is cast in a grey/black fabric and a dotted Volt Swoosh appears on the toe. A small white embroidered Swoosh is stitched onto the medial side of the forefoot and “Nike” detailing is located on the black nylon heel tab on the back of the shoe. Lightweight
