It informs workers about equipment locked-out and gives a serious message that a life is on the line. It also informs that the tag and lock should only be removed by the person shown on the back. It is mostly used at industrial facilities and manufacturing units to enforce safety regulations. The tag has blank space at the back to write instructions for workers and concerned personnel.
