capacitors near CPU replaced with good caps from Mouser

fan speed increased slightly for better cooling
Metal shield painted to prevent rust
Heat sink added to MCPX southbridge (these can get quite hot and the factory did not provide any heat sink)
the DVD drive has been eliminated - however i doubt you will ever need it...
clock capacitor removed:
(these are known to leak and all they do is save the time/date for a few hours if system is unplugged)
