Originally released in April 1987 on Def Jam Recordings. The album debuts the sample-heavy sound by production team The Bomb Squad and is very much a Rick Rubin-directed production. Each track is comprised of kicking heavy guitars toward the front, honing the loops, rhythms, and samples into a roar with as much in common with rock as rap. The rage which is so often the focus of "Nation of Millions" is present but with a little more diversity in subject matter that creates a more well-rounded listen. In celebration of Def Jam's 30th Anniversary UMe will be reissuing this title back on vinyl after being out of print for years.
