Behold this specialty of the Middle East Qamar al-Din is a fruit paste with a sweet and tangy taste that is enjoyed all around the Middle East and North Africa. It is made from orange or apricot, with sugar and olive oil and is sundried. The drying process thickens it, enriching its flavor. This versatile paste can be used in cooking and baking, or simply enjoyed on its own. To turn it into a drink, you simply soak a slice in room temperature water and give it 4 hours to dissolve then blend.
