Grow a garden filled with the royal blue Sapphire Sage, from freshly harvested Salvia farinacea flower seeds. Sapphire Sage will produce gorgeous, deep blue flowers atop tall, slender stems. Each plant will reach a mature height of roughly 12 to 24 inches tall. These beauties are known to attract an array of beneficial insects to the garden, such as butterflies, honeybees, bumblebees and hummingbirds as well. Once established, the flowers will bloom through the summer months, up until the first frost. Salvia is categorized as a tender perennial flowering plant. Perennials, such as Sapphire Sage, will establish a deep root system the first year of growth. If temperatures aren't too cold during the winter months, the plants can survive, returning the following year to flower once again. If temperatures typically drop below freezing, you may have to reestablish the plants from seed. Sapphire Sage wildflowers can self seed at the end of each season, or you can collect the seeds for planting the next season as well.

  • Blue Flowers - Did you know that blue flowers are the least common flower to exist in the world? This is due to the fact the true blue pigment is rare in nature. Crazy right?!
  • Perennial - Blue Salvia / Sapphire Sage is a perennial flowering plant that will return yearly from deeply established roots. Once they have taken root, they will bring joy each and every Summer!
  • Butterfly Garden - Add another flower to your butterfly garden or insectary. Blue Salvia will draw in pollinators with their sapphire blue colored flowers. Pair it with Red Salvia and Shasta daisies for a patriotic blend.
  • Growth - Salvia will grow from 12 to 24 inches in height and will spread a good 12 inches wide. They are perfect for beds & borders, along fences & walkways, or just in naturalized settings.
  • Quality - All Salvia seeds packaged by Seed Needs are intended for the current and the following growing seasons. All seeds are stored in a temperature controlled facility that is free of significant amounts of moisture.
  • Quantity - Seed Needs offers generous quantities. You can share with friends and family, or you can save the extra seeds until the following season, if properly stored.
  • Packets - Each seed packet displays an artful illustration of the variety to be grown, as well as detailed seed sowing information on the reverse side. They measure 3.25" wide by 4.50" tall.
  • Promise - Seed Needs will never knowingly supply GMO based seed products. The vast majority of our seeds are open pollinated & heirloom, with the exception of a few hybrids.
  • Germination - Seed Needs packets contain some of the freshest seed available. Direct from the growers. If sown correctly, you will begin seeing results in only a matter of days.
  • Freshness - All Salvia seeds are packaged in tear resistant and moisture resistant packaging. This keeps the seeds a whole lot fresher than the competitions selection!
