Sony Digimatic LITETIME AM/FM Scrolling Number Clock Radio

What do we have here? Sony, yes, is a vintage company. Known for its audio devices, Sony decided, for a while, to manufacture clock radios to combine their already established audio with clocks to compete with the number of flip clocks from the 70s to early 80s.

However, this model would support rotating numerals, instead of the sometimes troublesome flip placards of a flip clock. Further, this model has small black lights that illuminate the white numerals and station grid, instead of the orange neons found in flip clocks.

Designed in faux wood casing, this rather large sturdy model is rare for its manufacturing numbers and for its functionality to be intact. Everything works. If you’re a Sony collector or flip clock collector. This rarity is the one to buy! Note the black lights are weaker today, but still provide a soft glow to the numerals and radio dial in darkness. This doesn’t distract from this completely functional device!
