I bought this camera to take pictures of my children, but it started malfunctioning, and I'm now using the 6th generation of the same model.
It powers on when the power cord is connected, but the image is distorted as shown in the photos. Also, the lens won't retract (it retracts briefly when powered on, but then extends again and doesn't retract when the power is turned off).
It's a good camera in terms of its build quality, so I'm listing it as junk for camera enthusiasts to use for parts. Please understand that it is defective before purchasing.
