THE HAGGADAH, SZYK & ROTH 1965 ISRAEL

Rare unused aluminum and stainless steel burnished binding elaborately tooled and stamped in minute Bas Relief wonderfully illustrated by Arthur Szyk and edited by Cecil Roth. Published in 1965 by Massadah and Alumoth, Jerusalem (Ramat-Gan, Tel-Aviv) in Israel. Haggadah means “Telling,” the telling of the Passover redemption of the Israelis from Egypt to the Promised Land thousands of years ago in the times of Moses. Unused. Tight binding. Perfect pages. 48 double leaves of unpaginated religious text and illustration by Szyk in amazing color detail of the Medieval Illuminated Manuscript Style Szyk so perfected.. Szyk was Brilliant Radical Polish Political Cartoonist. Very detailed bas relief on cover and back. Four Turquoise jewels on front cover. Binding is silver looking aluminum and stainless steel hinging. Condition is basically mint. This Haggadah was fairly popular in the 1960’s and 1970’s, but is hard to find now, and impossible to find as an unused “time capsule” like this one.
