A distinguished pair of two vintage MCM carved walnut candlestick holders. The two columns are beautifully turned Walnut wood with a unique, segmented spiral groove profile, also called a barley twist or spindle. The candle sockets are lined with brass metal inserts, which protect the wood from heat and wax and add an elegant, contrasting accent. Both are crafted in two pieces, with the column screwing securely into the base, a sign of quality vintage manufacturing. The bases are finished with the original red felt material to prevent scratching surfaces.
Excellent vintage condition with a beautiful natural wood patina consistent with age and use. The brass inserts show minor oxidation (patina) that could be polished or left for character.
