Velo Orange Porteur Handlebar

Recall the renowned Belleri Porteur bars from France? Though Belleri is no longer in business, their handlebars remain highly sought after. Thus, Velo-Orange decided to create their own Porteur bars. Measuring 480mm in width, with a reach of 140mm, these bars feature a 130mm grip area and approximately 15mm of rise or drop. The clamp area is 25.4mm, and the quality and finish are excellent. The transition from the grip to the curve on the originals was somewhat abrupt, but the Velo-Orange version offers a gentler transition. Both versions boast fuller, more attractive curves than the similar Champs Elysees bars used on old Herse bikes. These bars are available in two tubing diameters: 23.8mm (road-sized) and 22.2mm (mountain bike-sized), with a clamp area of 25.4mm on both. The 22.2mm diameter bars accommodate MTB brake levers and clamp-on shifters, but not bar-end shifters, and only Dia Compe levers in the 22.2mm size work as inverse levers. The 23.8mm diameter bars are compatible with standard inverse brake levers, standard bar end shifters, and 23.8mm city brake levers, accepting any accessories designed for road bars.
