Vintage Schmid music box figurine that plays “Danny Boy”. Made in Japan for Schmid by Sankyo. Sankyo's unique approach to molding ceramics with music boxes resulted in these unusual porcelain music figurines that have the appearance of a regular ceramic decoration. Sankyo music boxes are celebrated for their crystal-clear sound quality, precise engineering, and original music arrangements, crafted with a unique technique that ensures a rich and authentic listening experience. Schmid made the Danny Boy music boxes from the late 1970s through the mid-1980s. Some crackling in the glaze, plays perfectly.
