Selling 9 US wartime nickels minted between 1942 and 1945. All featuring the prominent mint mark over the Monticello device that the mint used to denote that these are composed of 35% silver. The change in composition was made in an effort to conserve nickel, an important metal used in munitions for the war effort during World War 2 (WW2).
Original list price works out to $64/ozt of silver content; about 20% under the current spot price of silver. Together, these coins are a little more than 1/2 a troy ounce in actual silver weight.
