Zygopetalum Artur Elle - Fragrant Blooms Lovely Pattern Easy (NOT in-Bud/Bloom When Shipped)

Zygopetalum Artur Elle is a hybrid that has had many lovely individual cultivars, some with nearly blue lips, although admittedly, the right kind of lighting really helps (fluorescents are the best for making them look blue). Zygo. Artur Elle is an easy to grow hybrid, but will do best in higher humidity conditions, especially at the small seedling stage. Once they get up to four or five growths, Zygos tend to grow quite quickly, but it can take awhile to reach that size, so growing from seedling-size is best left to the experienced (and patient) grower. In other words, a seedling-size single-growth Zygo is not the best orchid for a beginner to start with, although a Blooming Size plant would be just fine. Another thing to keep in mind about Zygos is that their leaves look fantastic and impressive at first, but eventually they take on weathered look or get spots, dings, marks, etc. It's not really a problem for Zygos like Zygo Artur Elle as they're deciduous and will drop their leaves once a bulb matures, but some growers may feel that they're doing something wrong when leaves don't look pristine when in reality the growers are doing everything right. The best feature about Zygo Artur Elle (and many other Zygos) is their very strong fragrance. For orchid lovers who love fragrant orchids, no collection is complete without a Zygo, and one of the best to round out a collection is Zygo Artur Elle.

• Easy to grow hybrid. Water between 1X - 2X per week (keep medium evenly moist).
• Plant type is deciduous, so it will eventually drop its leaves on older pseudobulbs, so don't be alarmed when this happens!
• SD1 plant size is about 18 - 24 months from reaching Blooming Size. Please do not get this size if 18 - 24 months is too long to wait. Orchids are slower-growing than other plant types.
