Contractile Fields

Phillip Beach, D.O., DAc. developed a bold new theory on how musculature interacts with the skeleton.  He says that our movement is based on fields of contraction which is antithetical to the standard view of agonist-antagonist activity commonly taught around the world in medicine.  Place electromyography on the muscles of the arm while a baseball pitcher throws a ball and you will find agonist and antagonist firing synchronously, how is this possible? This brings a wider understanding of how musculoskeletal maladies occur and changes the thought process on correction as well.
