Breastfeeding & Newborns

There are many challenges for the osteopath when treating new mothers and newborns.  Breastfeeding leads to increased spinal tension, lymphatic congestion, increased dural tension and can be accompanied with sleep deprivation and depression for the mother.  The newborn’s physiology is focused on respiration, sucking, digestion, excretion and sleep.  All of this in the backdrop of birth trauma will be expounded on.
